Jude Craig talks about celebrating Spring

It may not feel like it if you have snow on the ground and freezing temperatures overnight but in energy terms Spring has sprung. The bulbs and brave plants have literally weathered the winter, rested well and gathered the energy they need. It is time now to become visible, power through, thrive and come to fruition with a bit of nurturing from the elements along the way.

You may be already noticing the parallel between us and the plants. We do tend to prefer to slow down a bit in the winter, cosy in, have less daylight time so are encouraged to come in doors earlier. We perhaps have more home baked puddings or wholesome casseroles and warm bowls of soup. Curl up with a hot water bottle, put on extra covers or thicker duvet and snuggle in for longer. We are indeed meant to go with the flow of the seasons in which we live and it is fitting that we are starting to feel excited that the days are stretching giving us around 15 minutes more light each week. Then whoosh! the clocks change and over night we acquire another hour of daylight and inevitably we feel please to get home from work when it's still light.

It can draw us out side and we fill up with more fresh air and maybe even a bit of garden appreciation or time for a walk before dining. However you intend to welcome the spring, I encourage you to do so with zest and vitality. Take a lesson from the plants that come out whatever the weather because they trust it is time to come out of the slow down hibernation period and embrace the new season. Mmmmmm......................I just thought, it may not be tempting for you if you are jaded or challenged at this time.

Whatever thoughts and actions infuse your day I invite you to explore the concept, choose to go with the flow and engage with the spring season even a little. There are many miracles around us and even if we only acknowledge on a day then we are at least fully present and with the joys of nature and that is always nourishing for body, mind and spirit.
